Glaucoma

Glaucoma is the word used to describe a group of potentially blinding eye conditions that have in common progressive loss of peripheral vision due to optic nerve damage and are often associated with high intraocular pressure (IOP – aka “eye pressure”). It can generally be managed with eye drops to lower the eye pressure, but in some cases, surgery may be required to prevent blindness. Our team has monitored and treated thousands of patients with various types of glaucoma. Our clinic is equipped with top-of-the-line automated visual field testing equipment to help detect any possible progression of your glaucoma and you can rest assured that we will take the time to thoroughly explain your test results to you at every visit. We feel that patients are most engaged in the treatment process when they understand their condition and the role of treatment in preserving vision. We will take the time to make sure you are comfortable with your treatment plan and completely understand our goals by the time you leave the office.

New patient evaluation or second opinion? Our doc will take the time to walk you through all of your options.
